Katie Kurtz leads a social impact consultancy that puts humanity, inclusion, and collective liberation at the center of every solution.
I live and lead in the embodied practice of trauma-informed care. This includes holding nuance, practicing discernment and actively engaging in the tandem somatic work around inclusion, liberation and humanity affirming practices.
After participating in the town hall led by Rachel Rodgers, and coaching with Annie Gichuru, this is my adapted active anti-oppression pledge that outlines my ethics and commitment to inclusion and mutual liberation. Please click here to read more about me and my learning lineage.
Although this pledge is addressing how I (Katie Kurtz) will be actively addressing ant-racism and anti-oppression, I am also calling in this community to join me and will make it known to new clients that this is who I am and what I stand for.
I commit to:
Ongoing Learning & Accountability: Engaging in lifelong anti-racism and anti-oppression education, integrating it into action, and remaining open to feedback and course correction.
Naming Systems of Harm: Recognizing and addressing white supremacy, systemic inequities, and historical and ongoing trauma experienced by intentionally marginalized communities.
Courageous, Human-Centered Action: Allowing conflict to surface, staying open to feedback, creating space for restorative practices, repairing harm, and modeling relational integrity in all spaces I facilitate.
Investing in Justice: Supporting intentionally marginalized communities through funding, hiring, partnerships, and accessible pricing models, while centering BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ leadership.
Anti-Oppressive Leadership: Embedding justice, equity, and trauma-informed practice into every aspect of my work, modeling ethical, inclusive, and culturally responsive leadership.
This is not a moment-it is a lifelong practice. I will continue to evolve, remain visible and vocal in my commitments, and invite this community to hold me accountable as I learn, act, and lead with integrity.
